To learn more about how to book a tutorial appointment with one of our
Learning Centre staff tutors, please read the following information.

Booking Procedures:

  1. Drop by room 3024 (across from the library). Weekly schedules indicating
subject areas and available times for each of our staff tutors are posted
within The Learning Centre. Tutoring is available Monday to Friday, 9:30
    to 4:30.
  1. Sign your name in a free time slot on the appropriate schedule. Be sure to also
include the subject code (i.e. BUS 1100). If you do not know the code, please
supply a subject title (i.e. Business Math). DO NOT book a tutorial session
during any of your regularly scheduled class times.

*Please note that you may include your name in someone else's booked time if
it is for the same subject. Certain subjects have a very high demand during
particular times throughout the semester; therefore, group tutoring is sometimes
necessary. If you require individual tutoring, please indicate as you sign up
    for your tutoring session.

  2. Book up to 2 hours per week per subject. We encourage students to book only
one session at a time as they require tutorial assistance.  If two hours a week
is insufficient, it is possible to request more time with our tutors.
  1. On the reminder sheets attached to the booking board, write down the
appointment date, time, and name of the tutor.

Cancellation Procedure:

  1. In order to facilitate tutoring access to students in need, we ask that if you
are unable to make your appointment, please come into The Tutorial Centre
and cross your name out in the appropriate time slot.
  1. You may also phone 566-8101, ext. 7262 or 7920 and let one of us know.

Peer Tutoring:

Peer tutors are interested students who have met the following conditions:

  1. They are full time Cambrian College students.
  2. They have passed the course with an A or a B.
  3. They have been recommended by a professor.
  4. They have maintained a reasonable G.P.A.
  5. They have been approved by The Learning Centre Coordinator.

For more information, please proceed to Peer Tutoring.
