ST54 Land Development Desktop R2 (5 days)

This course has been set up to offer a "hands-on" approach to computer-aided design with land Development Desktop design software. The main topics we will cover in this class are electronic data collection, point's management, co-ordinate geometry and electronic design.

Module Content:

  1. Drawing Management Using Project Based Drawings
    This module includes a product overview of AutoCAD Land Development Desktop with descriptions of the components and features of the software. The focus of this module is the creation and develop of project based drawings.
  2. Point Management
    Topics will include Point Group Manager, Description Key Manager and XDRef Manager for working with external databases. Other topics include importing and exporting points in various formats.
  3. Total Station Field Data
    Importing and manipulating of total Station field data. Discussions will also include exporting data to the field book from Land Development desktop.
  4. Line and Curve Data
    The focus of this module is on creation of lines and curves from point groups as well as user input. LDD inquiry commands will also be reviewed.
  5. Parcels and Parcel Data
    Topics will include the various means of creation of parcels as well ad editing and annotation techniques.
  6. Digital Terrain Models and Contours
    The last basic data group of LDD is the digital Terrain Module, Surfaces will be created, edited and analyzed in this module. Contours will be created using various styles.
  7. Site and Parcel Volumes
    The calculation of volumes is a critical part of site design. The focus of this module is the surface design process and the calculation of volumes.
