ST49 Computing RSVIEW32 (3 days)

This course will combine RSView32?, an integrated component based HMI software product whose purpose is to monitor and control automated process or machine monitoring and supervisory, with Modicon PLCs through KEPServerEX, 1 32 bit windows and application that provides a means of bringing data and information from industrial devices into client applications such as RSView32?. In addition, the course will present the hands on skills required to design an Industrial Network and to create ladder logic programs to initiate network messages. Introductory level Benchwork assignments such as communication and configuration with PLCs or DDE clients such as EXCEL, creating device tags and animating graphic objects, configuring alarm messages, and data logging and trending will afford the students the confidence to initiate more challenging projects.

Module Content:

1. Demonstrate an understanding of a MMI system based on RSView32.
2. Explore and utilize RSView32's help structure.
3. Create a new RSView32 project.
4. Understand the RSView32 paths structure
5. Work in the RSView32 Project Manager.
6. Configure a DDE node to communicate with Annimate, a test utility.
7. Understand System Tags and create folders.
8. Create device and memory tags.
9. Understand the Tag Monitor feature.
10. Understand the graphics subsystem.
11.  Arrange, draw and modify graphic objects.
12. Test animation of the display.
13. Formulate logical expressions to facilitate animation control.
14. Create an alarm monitoring system.
15. Configure a communication channel utilizing KEPServer to provide connectivity between RSView32 and a Modicon P.
16. Modify the existing project to accept data from a Modicon PLC Ladder Logic Program.
