ST4 Automatic Control II (3 days)
This module is a follow up to the Automatic Control I module. Proportional control will be reviewed with particular attention focused on offset. Reset will be introduced showing its effect on control. Finally derivative action will be studied as well as its effects on process control. Students will be expected to compare ON/OFF, pneumatic and electronic control loops.
Module Content:
- Review of proportional control, controller gain and offset
- Introduction of reset/integral action
- Effects on reset on control
- Rewet unit RPM & MPR
- Introduction of rate/derivative action on process control
- Effects of combining proportional, integral and derivative on control systems
