Your arrival
in Sudbury
Cambrian College offers you free pick-up service when you arrive at the Sudbury airport, bus depot or train station.
Assistance will also be provided to meet your orientation needs, particularly in finding temporary or permanent accommodation; accessing banking, electrical and telephone services; becoming familiar with the College and with the Sudbury area; acquiring personal and household necessities (e.g., winter clothing, medical services, furniture and appliances, etc.); and accessing local religious, cultural and recreational services.
We strongly suggest that you arrive a week or two prior to the start of your program in order to properly settle into your new home before you have to concentrate on your academic studies.
What support do we provide to international students?
Cambrian International provides a full range of services to meet the orientation and ongoing needs of the international clients. These are in addition to regular student services offered by the College to all Cambrian students:
- assessing the student academically for program placement;
- liaising with College academic and service departments, sponsoring agencies, and local community contacts;
- monitoring the student's academic progress and adjustment to school and community and arranging support, as required
- submitting interim and final progress reports to the sponsoring agency, if required;
- arranging transportation from the Sudbury airport and temporary and/or permanent accommodation;
- assisting in the acquisition of household necessities and personal needs (e.g., winter clothing, medical and dental services, etc.);
- assisting with any personal, social or community problems and arranging outside professional assistance, if required;
- arranging appropriate cultural, social and recreational experiences, if desired;
- arranging banking and other services (e.g., telephone, electricity, etc.); and
- arranging introductions to the appropriate local religious community.
