| This four-part module is intended to help faculty consider the transition from "traditional" to online teaching. It does this by covering learning theory and styles, good teaching practices, building online communities, and dealing with hot topics. If you're interested in learning more about online instructional design issues, this may be a good starting point. | This module might be "just a brushing up" of your computer skills, or something more involved. This section will help you self-assess your needs (or we can complete it together) and get you focussed on the essentials for online productivity tools and getting organized. From here, we can help you get the training you need. | This module is intended to get you started using Cambrian's online course management tool, called WebCT (Web Course Tools). If you just want to try a few tools, such as Grades, E-mail and maybe a small Quiz that automatically grades itself, this is the place for you! Your students will love it, and you'll "get your WebbedCT feet wet" gradually. | This module is intended to help you develop solid pedagogical themes in your online courses, which require comfort with many WebCT tools, and an applied understanding of online instructional design. For example, we'll help you incorporate a communication-rich scenario and help you assess its effectiveness. |
