·Administer an in-class survey. After each survey is compiled, spend time explaining how you implemented some of the suggestions

Students complete course surveys, three if possible:

·at the start, to assess pre-course levels of skill & knowledge

·one mid-stream, to assess learning AND degree of implementation of previous feedback

·one at the end, to assess whole course objectives, and the survey tool itself

·Publish the results at a PUBLIC web site

  1. Give feedback in a timely manner students need to know where they stand. 

Make it clear upfront if there will be some sort of graded exercise or test when they can expect feedback from you. 

At the end of a quiz if the quiz is not self-grading I always let the students know when to expect the grade to be in the grade book i.e. 48 hours etc.

  1. Connect information to learners’ daily lives through active learning.

Discussions regarding how the lesson has or could impact their daily lives. Assign learners to groups and have them create one list that incorporates all of their ideas about the topic.

Assign learners to groups and have them create a PowerPoint presentation that explains how each group feels that the information learned to their daily lives.
