Developing a course (or a portion of it) for online delivery....

Here is a suggested format for each lesson / module of content for an online version.
It's not necessary to use all sections – just what makes sense in the context of your course(s):

a.       Introduction/overview  of unit/module

b.      Learning outcome and/or objective of this unit/module

c.       Unit “to-do” list, or “what you’ll be graded on for this unit”, “unit activities” or similar

d.      Any necessary readings or pre-unit tasks that must be accomplished, if any

e.      Presentation materials (e.g. lecture notes, readings, slideshows, other resources – web, docs, etc.) , videos, lecture capture recordings, audio-narrated resources, etc.

f.        Follow-up activities – exercises, practice problems, internet research, discussion forum, blog or wiki post, etc.

g.       Assessment – review, quiz, test, assignment, report, journal, etc. – submitted for grading

h.      Optional resources/activities?  Any homework?

i.         List of resources used in this unit (web links, videos, chapter readings, etc.)

j.        Unit summary – review of what unit covered, etc., “you should now be able to……”, etc.

k.       Glossary of terms & definitions?

These can be rolled into a single word processing or HTML document,  or created as separate documents as you go.

Use whatever strategy works best for you.
