CAMBRIAN COLLEGE AWARDS PROGRAM APPLICATION FORMS AVAILABLE HERE
Sudbury, November 12, 2009 – Vale Inco and Cambrian College announced today that Vale Inco has contributed $2 million to the college to fund the design, development and tooling of a “mobile trades trailer”. This mobile classroom will be primarily used to provide exposure to students in outlying and distant communities to the idea of a possible future career in the Trades.
“This mobile trailer will provide access to the trades in a manner never before accomplished in many of these communities,” said John Pollesel, Vice-President, Production Services and Support, Canada/UK Operations and General Manager, Ontario Operations. “Along the way, it
will provide a natural launching point for those interested enough to consider trades as a future career. It will not only benefit students in Sudbury, it will also benefit aboriginal groups in the surrounding areas and also students in other cities who are just learning about these career options at trade shows.”
Cambrian College is pleased to announce that students Jessica Taylor and Matthew Berube are recipients of an In-Course Excellence Award from the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation.
Taylor and Berube are two of 300 students from across Canada selected to receive a first-level ($12,500) and second-level ($10,250) award, respectively, from over 2,300 applicants.
The Cambrian Foundation is now pleased to offer our donors the ability to make a donation online through our Online Donation service.
