Greater Toronto Area Alumni Reception

Since the Spring of 2000, your Alumni Association has been "Keeping In Touch" with our members in various geographical locations. We started with our members on Manitoulin Island, went to Ottawa in the fall of 2000, and then back to Espanola for this year’s spring gathering.

The Cambrian College Alumni Association headed south this fall to gather with our members in the Greater Toronto Area on October 18, 2001. This alumni reception was hosted at the Queen’s Park legislative dining room thanks to the sponsorship of Norm Miller, MPP Parry Sound - Muskoka and our affinity partner Liberty Mutual.

All our members in the Greater Toronto Area were invited to attend this gathering. The members that were able to join us that evening were very enthusiastic about reconnecting with their Alma Mater, former classmates and other Cambrian grads. This event was held to inform our members on the benefits of being a Cambrian Alumnus/ae and how we can help reconnect our members to each other. This was also a great opportunity to become informed of all the changes and growth Cambrian has had, and is currently undergoing, at the main campus on Barrydowne.

Norm Miller began by welcoming the members to their official Alumni Reception, which was followed by an informative message about insurance fraud from the Vice President, Jean Pierre Gagnon, of Liberty Mutual. Dr. Marsh presented a power point presentation that recapitulated the growth of Cambrian’s beginning on Notre Dame to today’s establishment of an E-Dome! Needless to say, there were a few memories dredged up from our graduates of the 1970's! And Kimberley Glibbery, the Alumni Officer shared the overall objective of the Cambrian College Alumni Association – to "Keep In Touch!"

We thank all those members who joined us that evening and are looking forward to the next Alumni receptions scheduled, one in North Bay, spring 2002 and our "Homecoming Reception" in the Summer of 2002! Stay tuned for more details.
