2001 Cambrian College Alumni, Staff & Faculty Golf Tournament

The Cambrian College Alumni Association hosted its second annual Alumni, Staff & Faculty Golf Tournament Sunday, August 26, 2001 at the Cedar Green Golf Course. Despite discouraging early morning clouds, the sun shone brightly by the time the first team teed off.

This event's primary focus was 'Friend Raising' and a great time was had by all. In attendance, we had Alumni members from the Class of '72 up through to the Class of 2001. As a 'Best Ball Tournament', the 'golfers' in the mix ranged from experienced to well, not so experienced. Needless to say there were a few laughs on behalf of the first timers.

All participants received great prizes regardless of their lack of golf expertise. Thanks to Liberty Mutual Insurance Company's sponsorship of this event, all golfers had a chance to win a Honda SUV at a 'Hole in One' shot. Carlson Wagonlit Travel sponsored another 'Hole in One' shot for a trip for two valued at $5000! Unfortunately, no beginners luck this round, the car was driven back to the lot and the trip for two will have to be postponed for yet another year.

Special "Kudos" to the ladies' longest drive, Cathy (Thibault) Branch, Class of 1986, she received a $50 Sears Gift Certificate compliments of Swytch Delivery Systems. The men's longest drive went to Wayne Glibbery, the 'Hammer', and other half of Alumni Officer, Kimberley Glibbery.

The grand finale winners of the tournament had to be determined with a three-way putt off for first place after three teams came in with a score of 31 - 4 under par! The two runner up teams were:
