25th Anniversary Reunion

The Electronics Engineering Class of '75 has evolved from the rowdiest group Cambrian had yet to see, to a successful group of rowdies that the Alumni Association is very proud to feature. These fellows have been getting together every five years since graduation they have continued onward with the bonds established in school, to the bonds of men who have conquered and achieved all that the path of life had laid out for them.

From the before and after pictures provided, you will see that their "style" has changed, but the relationships remained strong after 25 years. Hats off to this group, way to "Keep In Touch!"

The Cambrian College Electronics Technology 1975 graduates held their 25^th anniversary class reunion in Cornwall at the NavCan Training Institute on October 7, 2000. They have been getting together every 5 years and keep in touch with each other via e-mail. "The close bonds that were made at Cambrian remain and we all picked up where we left off last time we saw each other" said Patrick Carrey.

Here is a short description of who was there and where they are today.

John Barsczewski

Married Lise Dion who also attended Cambrian in the Library Technician program. John and Lise live in Petawawa with their two children, Katrina and Erek. John works at Atomic Energy of Canada in Chalk River as Facilities Supervisor.

Patrick Carrey

Married Gaetane Gagnon and lives in Ottawa with their three children Jean-Francois, Nicholas and Andree. Patrick works for Lucent Technologies in Wireless Business Development.

Wally Cassell

Married Maureen Lynn Blades during his last year of studies at Cambrian on August 3rd 1974. Wally and Maureen live in Waterdown, Ontario and have 2 beautiful daughters, Megan Lynn and Erin Taylor, son-in-law Marty Woolsey and an absolutely fantastic granddaughter Taylor Rayne (May 5, 1999). Wally is Manager at Laurel Steel, and since March 2000, running a Martial Arts school in Waterdown

Mike Connolly

Married Janice Hall, has one boy, James and lives in Ottawa, Ontario. Mike works for Industry Canada as Senior Director, Spectrum Management Operations.

Gordon Gagnon

Married Janet Corlett and they have no children. Gordon and Janet live just outside of Ashton (close to Carleton Place) with a big garden, lots of skunks, raccoons, and deer. Gordon works as a hardware designer for Mitel.

Richard Laakso

Married Betty Frey, graduate of the Medical Clerical program at Cambrian, in May 1976. Ric and Betty live in Kemptville and have two children, Jon 18 and Heather 15. Ric works at Hydro One as Protection and Control Technologist.

Forrest Rietze

Married Jane Ross, May 24th 1975. Forrest and Jane have lived in Long Sualt, Ontario since 1983. They have two children, Grant and Angela. Forrest and Jane are both working at NAV CANADA Training Institute in Cornwall. Jane is Manager of Finance and Forrest is Team Leader of Technical Operations.

Ken Gagnon

Married Rita Colasacco on September 15, 1979. Ken and Rita live in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario with their two girls, Lindsay 18 and Amy 15. Ken is currently working for the RCMP in Sault Ste. Marie as Information Technology Services Supervisor.

Garry Norkum (absent)

Married Joan Batten and has three children, 2 boys and a girl. After several years at Motorola they moved to Kelowna, B.C. where Garry is self-employed. Garry sells and repairs bicycles and snowboards at Cyclepath in Kelowna.
